Ideas can include Scene Boards, where scenes are created and organized:

Every idea starts off with a scene board for you to use to add scenes and them lay them out structurally, using the story structural format you choose:

To go to any listed scene board, just click on the card and it will open up.

Use the scene boards to lay out your script idea in as much detail as you want

Coming up with the idea is one thing, but preparing to write a script often means coming up with scenes, then laying them out structurally so that you can see, at a glance, how the story is meant to play out. For that we developed Scene Boards, similar in nature to Beat Boards used in Industry circles:

In Script 360, we have a number of structural story layouts, spanning feature films and television:

While the initial structure used in an idea's board will be based on the type of script you chose when you created the idea, feel free to change the structure to be in line with your own writing habits and conventions.

To add a new scene

Simply click on the little plus icon that is at the right side of each of the story beats on the board to add a new scene in that beat:

That will bring up the new scene popup box, where you can specify the location (scene heading) as well as to enter a synopsis of what happens in that scene:

Note the Int/Ext, Day/Night and Synopsis sections are optional, only the location is needed to be able to save the scene - you can flesh it out later (by double clicking to edit), which is true for any scene on the board.

So, when you have entered what you want (including adding characters you know will be in that scene), click the Add Scene button and the scene will appear immediately in your scene board:

Moving scenes around

We made it easy to shift scenes around, letting you simply click then drag and drop them anywhere - in the same beat or elsewhere:

As you drag them around your board, you will see an orange bar indicating where they will be placed if you were to release the mouse button:

And finally, once you release the mouse, the sceneis immediately moved to its new location:

The Unsassigned Column

Separate from the structured board there is an additional column, the Unassigned scenes. Feel free to use that column to add scene ideas you have where you may be unsure where they will go in the final story. Set pieces, important emotional scenes, whatever you want. You can drag them to the board at any time:
